Event Overview

On November 4, 2025, Co-Founder and Chairman of Recursive, Katsutoshi Yamada, spoke at the "Kidsdoor Family General Assembly 2025", organized by the NPO Kidsdoor. This annual event provides activity reports and shares information with approximately 100 members of the Kidsdoor family including corporate donors, economic organizations, government bodies, and individual contributors, who support Kidsdoor's initiatives.

Yamada participated in a panel discussion titled "Initating CSR as a Startup".

Session highlights

The session focused on "Initiating CSR as a Startuo", where participants discussed effective approaches that startups can undertake for solving social problems.

Yamada introduced Recursive's goal for 2030, which serve as the foundation for integrating business and social contribution; Accelerate Innovation, Increase Productivity, Better Work and Education, Prepare For Future Risks.

He then shared concrete examples of how these visions translate into action. In the education sector, Recursive is working to close the learning gap and enhance quality through AI-Powered Solutions, such as automated grading systems for children, which boost efficiency and personalize the learning experience.

On the environment front, he emphasized the critical need to prepare for global threats like wildfires and drought. He proposed a clear division of labor: while large enterprises should lead massive-scale challenges like decarbonization, startups are ideally positioned to pioneer new frontiers, using disruptive technology. Yamada also noted the staggering fact that over half of the world's GDP relies on natural capital, strongly underscoring the vital importance of natural conservation, especially water security.

Looking ahead, he spotlighted the transformation of education driven by AI integration as a key future CSR theme. He stressed that in the AI-native era, where AI can routinely provide answers, cultivating children's non-cognitive skills will become far more important than traditional academic focus. Recursive hopes to actively support the identification and development of essential life skills for the new age, such as communication, leadership, empathy, and imagination.
