“The future belongs to the risk-takers, not the comfort-seekers.” -Brian Tracy
In March 2026, Recursive held a one-day intensive retreat focused on strengthening our internal bonds and reaffirming our shared destination. It was an energetic day designed to unify our hearts and minds, marking a powerful restart as we head toward our next stage of growth.

CEO Tiago opened the session by reinforcing Recursive’s core mission: "We drive SustainableTransformation through AI solutions. We believe that enabling everyone to build custom software will unlock a huge productivity improvement in business"
As the AI and software industries reach a major turning point, we reaffirmed our commitment to creating value by integrating People, Technology, and Environment. Reflecting on our current projects, the team shared specific strategies to achieve both Stability and Scalability in the coming fiscal year. This was followed by a workshop where teams discussed the evolving landscape of work, exploring questions such as, "How might our roles be reshaped by AI?" and "How can we best collaborate with AI?" These cross-functional dialogues allowed us to dive deep into how our organization can evolve alongside technology.

The afternoon shifted toward fostering team synergy through a game of "Hanabi." In this cooperative card game, players cannot see their own cards and must rely entirely on teammates' hints to successfully launch a "firework" display. This exercise highlighted the importance of clear communication and the necessity of viewing challenges from a teammate’s perspective. To round out the day, a meditation session provided a space for self-reflection, allowing members to clear their minds and recharge. Throughout the workshops, lunch, and even short breaks, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and spirited discussion, making it a truly stimulating and fulfilling day.

Recursive navigated 2025 guided by the philosophy: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” It was a year of tangible growth, where mutual respect and individual dedication allowed us to tackle diverse projects with confidence.
Looking ahead to 2026, our COO, Mikiko Ujihara emphasized that our goal is to achieve “Winning Together.” One of Recursive’s greatest strengths lies in its diversity—a melting pot of different backgrounds and expertise. The synergy reaffirmed during this retreat is the primary engine that will allow us to navigate the unknown territories of the rapidly changing AI industry. By harnessing our collective strengths, Recursive will continue to aim higher. With strengthened bonds and a renewed sense of purpose, we remain committed to taking risks and driving positive transformation in the world.
Founded by a former senior research engineer at Google DeepMind, Recursive brings together world-class talent from across disciplines to engineer results where others can't.
