Recursive COO, Mikiko Ujihara, attended NVIDIA AI Day Tokyo, held on September 24th and 25th, 2025. This two-day event featured sessions on the latest technological trends, including Agentic AI, Physics AI, and Quantum Computing, all centered around the advancement of Sovereign AI. With over 900 industry experts and developers in attendance, Recursive participated to demonstrate its commitment to pursuing the evolution of AI technology and creating new value through real-world application.

NVIDIA AI Day was structured as a hub for developers and researchers applying AI to solve complex challenges, featuring 26 sessions that shared the latest technologies and success stories. A notable trend was the heightened focus on "Physics AI", which involves applying AI to real-world problem-solving. This provided attendees with invaluable opportunities to acquire the specific knowledge required to leverage AI and high-performance computing for operation efficiency.

Mikiko participated in the "Inception Showcase", a session dedicated to presenting the innovative achievements of startups enrolled in the NVIDIA Inception program. There, she presented Recursive's solution for identifying groundwater contamination sources, developed in collaboration with a partner company. This solution directly addresses the critical societal challenge of groundwater, a vital resource for communities and industry, being contaminated by "forever chemicals" like PFAS. Traditionally, identifying the source of contamination incurred tremendous effort, cost, and the substantial expense associated with drilling test wells for measurement.

Recursive's solution achieves natural environmental prediction using its proprietary model—a tangible demonstration of the Physical AI domain. Specifically, the team developed an AI model that simulates groundwater contaminant diffusion from limited measurement data by learning from thousands of stimulations generated by hydrological fluid dynamics software. This development framework, achieves high accuracy in identifying the past and future movement of the contamination source in under one minute. By applying NVIDIA's cutting-edge AI technology to solve a formidable environmental problem, this solution serves as a powerful success story for the type of industry-specific AI required in the Sovereign AI era.
